Tidy hotel, extremely convenient choice for an overnight stay. Comfy bed and helpful and excellent staff. - Excellent and absolutely perfect location close to restaurants, Tube, and exceptionally good view. - Really close to King's Cross station, groups would meet here, airport and city center.

Lovely experience, cosy base for one night. Beautifully decorated and quaint accommodation with magnificent setting near kings cross tube station, St Pancras for the early Euro star and all major train stations. A work desk, multi-channel TV and ironing facilities available in the guest room. A walk-in shower in the bathroom.

The location of the hotel was excellent - right near Kings Cross station so great base for travelling around the city. There is also on street parking that can be used at weekends for free. We had some recently refurbished rooms, so they were really nice, clean and comfortable. We weren't able to have the exact rooms we booked, but were able to get better rooms for the same price, so worked out better for us. Weren't sure what to expect as the price was so good - but were very pleasantly surprised!
It wasn't a dislike as such, but the walls are quite thin, so you can hear the other guests and they could hear us. We were out late, for a fun weekend, so didn't matter for us - but don't think it's somewhere you could have a quiet relaxing time.

The room is a good size with a big bathroom, the bed is comfortable, and the check-in process is fast and efficient.

For me the location near King Cross is important
The internet connection is very, very weak. I spent 2 hours to reserve flight ticked on internet! Without a/c in the warm days in very hot in room.

Excellent location and very friendly helpful staff, the hotel was very comfortable and offered very good value for money, the only issue was the breakfast arrangements which will be probably addressed once the refurbishment is completed. My family and I will definitely stay at the excelsior again

Clean room. Close to St.Pancras & Kings Cross.
Very small bathroom, not enough room to swing a mouse let alone a cat! Breakfast... You had to walk to another side of the Square as the dining room was shared with a couple of other hotels and would only seat 16 people so be prepared to wait outside in a queue! Very basic so would suggest you get your full english elsewhere!

That the following were provided: a good breakfast; towels; a kettle & tea/coffee etc
The bed-mattress was lumpy.

This hotel is going through a refurb so our family room was not at its best and the photograph on the web site was very different. We had to go to another hotel for breakfast which was very small so we had to wait outside for a table. Would not stay again although staff very nice.

Room was small but ok for a short stay. Staff were friendly but I had to ask 5 times for an iron. Would stay here again as a last resort.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
